Hello!
This page is dedicated to the McKee name and all those who are interested in news on our heritage, backgrounds, family stories, letters, and anything that might be sent this way to share with other McKees from around the world. I have been asked to do something like this, and time permitting, and with interest and input, I will endeavor to diseminate information that I and others run across that would be interested in sharing.

I received this note from McKee enthusiast and post; thanks Charle
I was browsing through NEHGR Vol. 60 (1906) to day during my interlude at Kent Memorial Library between work and LIONS Club meeting, and ran across some emigration ship passenger lists from Ireland to the US of A in 1803. Probably, they aren't your direct line, as they are not mine, but perhaps some other McKee research is looking for them.
Here's the excerpted data:
Pg. 161, Passengers having booked passage on "AMERICAN" from Londonderry to New York City 09 April 1803:
Alex McKee, aged 27, farmer from Donegal
Fanny McKee, aged 26, spinster from Donegal (possibly his sister)
Pg. 163, Passengers having booked passage on "ARDENT" from Londonderry to Baltimore 23 April 1803:
Andrew McKee, aged 38, farmer from Donan
Mrs. Andrew McKee, aged 34, from Donan
Elizabeth Richey, aged 9, from Donan
Mr. & Mrs. James Richey & 6 other children from Donan
Nancy McKee, aged 16, from Donan
Pat McKee, aged 15 from Donan
Elizabeth Finlay, aged 57, from Donan
Pg. 240, Passengers having booked passage on "JEFFERSON" from Sligo to New York City 16/18 April 1803:
James McKey, age 36, laborer, from Sligo
Maybe the above will help tear down someone's brick wall.
Cheers,
Charle
Bruce -of the UK has an interesting question to ponder... respond to BRobi16103@aol.com
I'm still trying to find a reason for why the McKee's emigrated from Irelan to Kingston upon Hull (to give the city it's full title) - i.e. seems odd they didn't settle on the west coast of Britain but east coast. My theory is that my forebear might have been a soldier and was posted to the Citadel that formerly guarded Hull (note John Paul Jones attempted to attack this fortification in 1779 but failed to enter the River Humber).
