New things are going on at Kevin McKee Homepage I am going to compile the "Best of McKee" Page, I will post entries from McKees who have knowledge of unusual McKee records- longest living; most children; earliest arrival in US; Most land owned; who knows... If something seemed out of the ordinary, lets list it. Also, I would like to start a McKees to Ireland page, folks that have gone, or are going to find or see their roots! I have been getting a few of these. Also, if you have Reunion information, I would like to post this as well. E-Mail me. I have two folks families that were sent to be posted they are not related directly that Iknow of. The Pico search engine in tack, I can post more of these.
I wanted to let everyone know that my web address is www.kevinmckee.org which is much easier that that long one. If its remembered in your favorite or address book, no problem the old one will work.

(Copy of letter written to Henrietta, after the death of her husband, David McKee by her father, John McWillie in Carrickmacross, Monaghan County, Ireland.) Lisnagunning House-March 13, 1862 Dear Henrietta: It is with much anxiety and sorrow I now assume this opportunity of writing these few lines to you upon hearing of David's death. It impressed us all with much sorrow but more especially your Mother. I hope you will be enabled by the help of the Lord, to bear up with Christian fortitude and resignation to the sovereign will and disposing of the Almighty God, who giveth and who taketh away and who promised to be a father to the fatherless. Yes, dear Henrietta, cast yourself entirely upon Him alone and commit your way to Him and He will verify His promise to you and support and sustain you in every trial and every trouble and I trust will direct and guide you and guard you in all your ways and in all your undertakings. Your Father and Mother-in-law came to our place shortly after receiving your letter and was much affected, said that they would soon write to you and I think that they mentioned that they would wish you to come home to this country. If you would think of coming, I would do everything in my power to assist you in the rearing of your little children. There is one thing, I think they could be more easily schooled here than in America and if you would think of coming home you would be as welcome as ever to your father's house and home. But, not knowing your circumstances, I cannot say, however, I can say to you and your little children that your Mother, sisters & brother and all of us would make you feel at home and would use the utmost of our ability to make you comfortable & promote your welfare. However, if you think of coming I assure you as I have said before, we would be most happy to welcome you and your little ones to our own fireside. Whatever, I hope you will be directed for the better and that you will be enabled to keep your children with you and rear them and train them up for God and His service. The newspapers of this country give sad accounts of America, of the war and disturbance. (Civil War 1861-1865) I do not know your circumstances and how you are situated, therefore I am unable to advise you but I hope you will write to me soon and let me know all your circumstances and then I will be more able to advise you. Are you near a place of worship or is there any place for the preaching of the gospel near you or any sacramental opportunities in that country? I suppose you would wish to learn something of ourselves. Your Mother is little failed as yet. She keeps the flesh and color much as when you left her. Hannah is a very strong young woman, as much as any you would get. Elizabeth Jean is a highly improved young woman, I think she would please you. Margaret is nearly as tall as any of them and is much improved for the better. James has become a strong young man and is able & heavy-bodied. May the Lord bless and keep and preserve you and your little ones through this life and everlasting enjoyment of Himself and with Himself in the next is my earnest prayer.
