Here's what I have on the Tarvins of Marshall Co. and it should be
pretty accurate. I can get sources for you further back than the Thomas
Tarvin book if you wish. Anna Randolph was the daughter of Thomas C.
Randolph and Martha Hicks Tarvin, b. 24 Aug 1855, d. April 1917, Marshall
Co., m. 1 April 1877.
Her parents were George Washington Tarvin, b. 14 Sep 1824, m. 14 Oct
1850, d. 11 Dec. 1905, Marysville, KS, buried in Marysville Cemetery and Ann
Stanton Hicks, b. 25 July 1828, d. 14 April 1915, buried Marysville Cem.
Ann Stanton Hicks' parents were Martha Tarvin, b. 4 Sep 1795, m. 27 Feb
1817, d. 23 Nov 1855 in Campbell Co. KY and (Rev., I believe) John Green
Hicks.
Martha Tarvin was the Rev. George Tarvin's youngest daughter, and Thomas
Tarvin was his eldest son, which is how their children were a generation
apart. Ann Stanton Hicks and Squire Grant Tarvin were first cousins. So
George Washington Tarvin married his first cousin once removed.
G.W. Tarvin's parents were Squire Grant Tarvin, b. 8 Mar 1800, Mason Co.
KY, m. circa 1822, d. 7 March 1879 in Campbell Co. KY and Sarah Dix, b. ca.
1802 in Virginia, d. 1860/70 in Campbell Co. KY.
Squire Tarvin's father was Thomas Tarvin, b. 14 April 1768, d.
1850/1860, Campbell Co. KY. His mother was Deborah Flora. She died 19 July
1849.
Thomas was the eldest son of the Rev. George Tarvin, b. about 1744 in
Charles Co. MD, m. ca. 1767, d. 3 Jan 1813, and Sarah Craycraft, b. ca. 1747
in Virginia, d. 10 Aug 1806 in Fleming Co. KY.
The Rev. George's parents were George Tarvin and Eleanor Mudd.
