Newsletter 2000

This year is not only a new millennium, but also a milestone for our company. Blue Sky Filters, Inc. has been working with Northwest industries since 1975. The year 2000 marks our 25th anniversary! I am exceptionally proud of all the individuals who have made this possible. To our employees, loyal friends, customers and suppliers who have made our survival and success a reality these past 25 years--I offer my warmest thanks and appreciation!

When I refer to “our customers”, I have a hard time thinking of you simply as customers. I tend to look upon you instead as friends and partners in the business world. Some of you were there back in 1975 when I had a red 1965 Chevy pick-up running up and down I-5 picking up bags to clean and repair. At that time this service was a novel idea, saved money for you, my customers, and gave me the opportunity to get Blue Sky off the ground. Our goal was to do what the customer needed and wanted--clean, repair, replace, and service their filtration needs with quality products and exceptional service. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Well, nothing’s perfect, and I have to admit there were many bumps along the way! Thanks to you, however, we had the opportunity to learn from our mistakes and were able to grow into the company we are today. Without you, my friends, and my loyal employees who comprise our company, there would not be a Blue Sky Filters! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Do you realize that for 23 years you have been able to call Blue Sky Filters and talk to the same person about your baghouse and filtration needs! SONJA BEAUREGARD has been there for you for 23 years and has been our rock and stabilizing force for all those years. Sonja is a strong believer in always going the extra mile for HER customers (friends). Almost every evening you can find her working until 5:30-6:00 p.m. to fulfill a commitment she made for a customer, or double checking that the orders for the next day are correct. In the last 23 years Sonja has worked her miracles to help many, many customers get bags, cages and other services, and be back on line within hours!

THANK YOU SONJA!!

Just as important to our 25 years of success is the rest of our crew. ED FOLEY (“Professor” Foley to us) has been the jack of all trades guy around here for 18 years. He has done everything from engineering, maintenance, pick-ups and deliveries, to repairing sewing machines and washroom equipment, monitoring our water and sanitation department, and assisting customers with HVAC and liquid filtration. Ed is a valued and trusted employee and has a passion for railroading--both model and full scale. Call “Professor” Ed and talk trains!

THANK YOU ED!!

Ever wonder who makes those great bags and manufactured products? Our production leader Chris Smith has been sewing up a storm and overseeing our quality control for the past 14 years. Chris has a passion for quality and demands 110% from herself! She knows how to set an example and teach her crew to be the best they can be. Chris believes in open lines of communication and she is always available to discuss your production or design needs.

THANK YOU CHRIS!!

Every sales and production person needs the support of a great office staff. Jackie Woldt has been answering the phone, writing quotes, purchase orders, filing, invoicing and keeping track of all of us for 8 years. Jackie is our life line! Many of you may remember Jackie’s husband Paul. Big Paul was our driver for over 2 years until he left to become one of the transit drivers at the Portland airport. He is currently up for employee of the year and could win a nice trip to San Diego--good luck Paul!

THANKS JACKIE!!

The rest of our employees are the best--

JOSE ALVAREZ, HARRY BUCHLER, EDWARD CAMPBELL,

DOUGLAS FRALEY, BARBARA MASSEY, JOSE MENDOZA-MEJIA,

AND BRENDA POLK--THANK YOU!!
